The Lastest Gun in the West is a season 13 episode from the television series The Simpsons, which February 4, 2002. It guest stars Dennis Weaver.

Plot

Bart is chased by a dog and winds up in the backyard of a has-been actor named Buck McCoy. Buck was a famous Western star back in the day, and Bart takes the elder on as his hero. Bart gets Buck a job on the "Krusty the Clown" show, but Buck is actually an alcoholic and reverts to his drinking ways while on the air. Homer on the other hand, wants Bart to acknowledge him as his hero. Homer pursues in doing so.

Trivia

  • Buck McCoy looks a lot like Ronald Reagan, an actor in many Westerns.
  • In one scene, the audio has Lisa saying "Dad, I'm on the line". But the closed captions say Operator: "First, pay your phone bill".
  • When Grandpa shows Bart his Junior Buckaroo badge, It's entitled "Little Grandpa Simpson." Obviously this is a joke rather than a scripting error or a childhood nickname.
