David Lang is also the name of an American composer.

David Lang (born March 28, 1967 in Loma Linda, California — died May 21, 2005 in Stone Mountain, Georgia) was an NFL running back.

He was drafted in the 12th-round from Northern Arizona University in 1990 NFL Draft. He spent four years with the Los Angeles Rams. In 1992, Lang rushed for a career high 203 yards on 33 carries and caught 18 passes for 283 yards. He scored six touchdowns.

David graduated from Eisenhower High School in Rialto, California in 1986, where he enjoyed football star status as a positive, friendly young man. David was a friend to all who knew him and many who didn't. His gentle off-field disposition transformed to be a fierce competitor and positive leader on the field.

Lang overcame his share of challenges to enjoy his onfield successes and his positive outlook helped him lead others searching for direction and answers.

As fast as he was on the field, he was quick to smile and even quicker to help someone in need.

In 1995, his final season, he was the special teams captain of the Dallas Cowboys who won Super Bowl XXX.

He was shot and killed near his home in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
