"Beautiful Girls"
Song

"Beautiful Girls" is a song by reggae-influenced musician Sean Kingston from his upcoming self-titled debut album Sean Kingston to be released this July. The song heavily samples Ben E. King's classic "Stand By Me".

The video premiered on June 29, 2007, on Y! Music.

Song information

The song is about beautiful girls and how they can make a man suicidal when they decide a relationship is over. Certain radio stations play the censored version of the song, which replaces the word "suicidal" with "in denial". This censor was done to prevent the unintentional promotion of teenage suicide. On MTV the word suicidal is completely removed with no replacement. Lil' Mama, Lil' JJ and Brandon T. Jackson make cameo appearances.

The song has started to gain massive airplay (it has so far reached number two on Hot 100 Airplay), peaking at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Hot 100. On July 24, "Beautiful Girls" was accidentally leaked onto the U.S. iTunes Store, two days before the planned release date. It has now made an appearance on the iTunes Top 100 Chart at number two only 24 hours after its release, and is currently number one. There is also a remix with rapper Sheek Louch, and another remix with new instrumentals features Cuban rapper Pitbull.

JoJo has done her own version of "Beautiful Girls", called "Beautiful Girls Reply", but it does not feature Sean Kingston. It is available as a free, legal download on her MySpace page. Reggae rapper Collie Buddz has also recorded a cover version.

Reggae sister duo Brick & Lace used the instrumental from the track and recorded a reply to this song called "Heartbreaker." Although it has not officially been released it receives some airplay. [citation needed] Nerdcore rapper mc chris recently did a cover which he made available on his Myspace page.
