Song |
"One Night Without You" is a pop song written by Dianne Warren. Cosima recorded the song for her debut album Cosima and a double A-side to the Cold Chisel song "When the War Is Over".
The song was a Latin-themed track and was fairly uptempo with its beats, it remained very much adult contemporary. As a result, it was not added to many radio playlists at the time, though featured prominently in the promotion for Cosima's debut album.
It was the first independent artist to debut at number one on the Australian ARIA Charts(Record holder). Best selling independent Australian single for 2004. Fourth consecutive Australian Idol finalist to debut at number one (after Guy Sebastian, Shannon Noll and Paulini) . Re-entered the Australian Independent Charts at Number eleven two years after it debuted at number one on the ARIA Charts. The single debuted at number one on the Australian ARIA Singles Charts and remained there for two weeks. The release stayed in the Top five for over a month and was certified Platinum for shipments of over 70,000 units within weeks. There was fierce competition at the time from other strong-sellers such as Missy Higgins, who was prevented from reaching the pole position because of the single.
