Krasny received his B.A. (Cum Laude, 1966) and M.A. (1967) degrees from Ohio University, where he is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and his Ph.D. degree in literature from University of Wisconsin in 1971.

Michael Krasny is also the name of the billionaire former chief executive officer of CDW Computer Centers, a direct seller of technical gadgets including computers and networking equipment. Krasny's previous job before creating CDW was that of a Toyota car salesman (for his father).

In 2005, Forbes magazine named Krasny the 293rd richest man in the world, with an estimated wealth of USD $1.90 billion. [1]
