The Festival of New Trumpet Music is an annual music festival in the United States. Held annually in New York City, New York, the festival presents music, emphasizing both jazz and contemporary classical music compositions. Through its mission of presenting new trumpet music of all forms, the festival consistently presents numerous commissions and world premieres.
By presenting a series of concerts, commissioning new works, creating new projects, giving free master classes, hosting panels, and collaborating with other New York presenters and international artists, the festival explores a wide range of contemporary artistic activity. FONT Music, a non-profit organization, supports the community by working in conjunction with music programs in the public schools of New York City. FONT Music is directed by trumpeter and composer Dave Douglas, who works with co-directors Roy Campbell, Jr. and Jon Nelson.
