Propeller TV is a free-to-air and not-for-profit television channel run by the Image Channel Company Ltd, a subsidiary of the Grimsby Institute in the United Kingdom.

Working with Screen Yorkshire and other parties including the BBC, ITV, Sony and Skillset, the channel's stated aim is to establish a showcase for emerging talent in television and film, while providing individuals with production facilities.

The channel launched on 6 February, 2006 on British Sky Broadcasting's satellite platform, Sky Digital.[1]

Anime Block

On June 3rd, 2007 Propeller TV started broadcasting Anime network with 2 hosts bringing 4 different Anime series for 2 hours, this was established by a deal with ADV Films who already run the a channel also entitled Anime Network in the United States. These shows air from 8:00 pm - 10:00pm every Sunday. The series include:

At AmeCon 2007, ADV announced that Anime Network UK would be expanding. This move came around the time that both The Coyote Ragtime Show and Elfen Lied were approaching end of series. ADV announced that on Sunday evenings both of these series would be replaced by Innocent Venus and Jinki: Extend while new episodes Evangelion and Guyver will continue to broadcast (Both being 26 episode's in length apposed to the 13 episode length of the other two currently airing series. ADV also announced that Anime network UK will start broadcasting everyday between 8PM to 10PM *although new episodes will only premier on Saturdays and Sundays*.[2]

Ironically this expansion was announced around the same time that the company Chart Show Channels announced they would be launching the UK’s first anime exclusive TV channel entitled AnimeCentral.[3]
