Usage
Project banner
The {{philosophy}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:

- nested – "yes" if the banner is being used in conjunction with {{WikiProjectBannerShell}}.
- class – a rating of the article's quality; see the assessment department for more details.
- auto – "yes" if the article has been automatically assessed; see the automation department for more details.
- A-Class – indicates the status of the article's A-Class review, if any; see the review department for more details.
- peer-review – "yes" if the article is currently listed for peer review by the project; see the review department for more details.
- old-peer-review – "yes" if the article was previously listed for peer review by the project; see the review department for more details.
- attention – "yes" if the article requires immediate attention; see Category:Philosophy articles needing attention for more details on when this should be used.
- portalX-name – if the article has been selected for use on a portal, the name of that portal. The name should be given without any formatting or namespace prefixes; thus, Portal:Epistemology is given as "|portal1-name=Epistemology". Up to five different portals may be specified, via the parameters portal1-name through portal5-name.
- portalX-link – the portal subpage location where the article may be found on the corresponding portal. This should be given as a pure unlinked subpage name; thus, Portal:Epistemology/Selected event/3 is given as "|portal1-link=Selected event/3".
- Aesthetics – "yes" if the article is supported by the Aesthetics task force.
- Metaphysics – "yes" if the article is supported by the Metaphysics task force.
- Epistemology – "yes" if the article is supported by the Epistemology task force.
- Ethics – "yes" if the article is supported by the Ethics task force.
- Logic – "yes" if the article is supported by the Logic task force.
- Social-and-political – "yes" if the article is supported by the Social and political task force.
- science – "yes" if the article is supported by the Philosophy of science task force.
- religion – "yes" if the article is supported by the Philosophy of religion task force.
- science – "yes" if the article is supported by the Philosophy of science task force.
- language – "yes" if the article is supported by the Philosophy of language task force.
- Philosopher – "yes" if the article is supported by the Philosopher task force.
Task forces (major traditions):
- Analytic – "yes" if the article is supported by the Analytic philosophy task force.
- Continental – "yes" if the article is supported by the Continental philosophy task force.
- Marxism – "yes" if the article is supported by the Marxism task force.
- Ancient – "yes" if the article is supported by the Ancient philosophy task force.
- Medieval – "yes" if the article is supported by the Medieval philosophy task force.
- Modern – "yes" if the article is supported by the Modern philosophy task force.
- Contemporary – "yes" if the article is supported by the Contemporary philosophy task force.
To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.
