Untitled

Special Occasion is the second album from R&B crooner Bobby Valentino. Special Occasion is a showcase of Bobby Valentino's hip hop/R&B talent balanced with sexy, melodious ballads. With Valentino co-writing more than three quarters of the album, it also boasts songwriting and production credits from award-winning hit makers such as Timbaland, Rodney Jerkins, Sean Garrett, Tim & Bob, Don Vito, Bryan Michael Cox and Dre & Vidal. [1] [2]

The album was set to be released on December 12, 2006, but was delayed and rescheduled to February 13, 2007. The album was pushed back again and finally released May 8, 2007. Although fans may have already heard Valentino’s buzz single, "Wreck", the album’s first official single was the Jerkins-produced track, "Turn the Page". The emotional ballad has Valentino crooning about trust and taking risks in a relationship. The album features Ludacris, Timbaland and Fabolous. It was rumored that the song "Pullin' Up", featuring Smoke of Field Mob, would be on this album, but the song is actually on Lil' Romeo's album God's Gift. The second single from the album is "Anonymous", featuring and composed by producer Timbaland.

The album has leaked to the internet as of April 30th. Following its release, it debuted on the U.S. Billboard 200 at number three, selling about 92,000 copies in its first week.[1] As of July 11, 2007, the album has sold 216,593 copies in the US.[2]

Valentino has also offered fans Special Occasion's ten-song guarantee, which now has become a catchphrase: "I have a 10-song guarantee," the singer says. "If you don't like at least 10 songs off my album, you can get your money back." He plans to release an Underground Love album following the release of Special Occasion.
