Arfa Karim Randhawa (Urdu: عارفہ کریم) (born 1996), a girl from the city of Faisalabad in Pakistan, who in 2005 at the age of 9, became one of the youngest [[Microsoft Certified Professional[1]|Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCPs)]] in the world.(She held that record for about four months until it was broken by the Young Kid by the name of Babar Iqbal at the age of 9 years and 27 days Babar Iqbal). The same year, she was invited to visit the Microsoft headquarters in Washington and to meet with Bill Gates, former CEO and Chief Software Architect of the corporation.

Arfa was introduced to computers when she was 6 years old, yet she managed to gather significant amount of information to pass through the Microsoft standards. What is worthy of note here is that Arfa prepared for her actual certification examinations during her four month summer break from her school. She holds an MCP in Windows Programming using the C# programming language.

From appearances at award ceremonies to affairs like the Microsoft Pakistan Developer Conference, she now fancies a celebrity-like status throughout the nation.

Awards and achievements

Arfa is hailed across Pakistan as a role model for small children. The Mir Khalil-ur-Rehman Foundation or the MKRF working with Microsoft, Pakistan awarded Arfa with the Shabash award for her achievements and arranged for her a trip to the Microsoft Redmond Headquarters in the USA to personally meet up with the company's founder Bill Gates. After coming back from the US, the Whizkid received the Fatima Jinnah Gold Medal 2005, the Salaam Pakistan Youth Award 2005 and the President's Award for Pride of Performance in 2006. Currently she is a student of 8th grade in The City School Cantt Senior Branch Rawalpindi.
