Tim Hughes is a Christian worship leader and songwriter with Survivor Records, who is currently Director of Worship at Holy Trinity Brompton, a vibrant Anglican church in central London and heads up Worship Central, a new worship training resource. The son of an Anglican vicar, Hughes grew up in Birmingham and studied History at Sheffield University.
Prior to his current post, Hughes worked at Soul Survivor Watford Church, where he was Worship Pastor (the current Worship Pastor is Ben Cantelon). He moved to Holy Trinity Brompton in 2005 and, with Associate Director of Worship Al Gordon, has set up the Worship Central project.
Personal Life
Tim was often encouraged by his parents from a young age, eventually developing a caring nature for the poor and homeless. Every Christmas, his father would run a lunch outreach at the church for the elderly, the homeless and those without families, to which Tim and his brother, Pete, would assist in different ways. Over the years, Hughes' desire to help those in poverty has grown.
At the age of 19, Hughes was approached by Mike Pilavachi and asked to lead worship at the Christian festival Soul Survivor. Some time later, he married his fiancé, Rachel. The two are currently expecting their first child.
