Response for GWB wiki
Hello RickK, you recently messaged me about my correcting of the George W. Bush’s wiki. I have fixed the problem with the inaccuracies in a different way. I shall see how it goes with that one. Although I do believe that unproven/fictional information does not belong in a page for facts of a person. However seeing that many wikiteers believe the information that the film presents is truth I shall seize my attempt to keep it from Bush’s page as long as my other fix remains clear.
Thanks, Lohioff
Range blocks
Hiya I saw you recent post at the village pump, and thought I'd come an teach you how you could have done it.
Firstly do a reverse DNS check to see the internet provider. If it's AOL give up. AOL is far too large, has far too many computers for you to ba able to block the vandal. You'll sucseed in blocking loads of legit users and probably won't get the actual vandal.
Assuming it's not AOL then proceed as follows,
64.12.116.10 through 64.12.117.22
Set the last digits to 0 64.12.116.0 ->> 64.12.117.0
do two /24 blocks 64.12.116.0/24 and 64.12.117.0/24 that will block a total of 512 IPs
Stick to /24 only if you are at all unsure about what you are doing. Note that /31 will block fewer than /24 and /16 will block a lot more. Never go lower than /16 ( I don't you you can in actual fact anyway) Also since range blocks catch innocents as well as vandals keep them short. Policy is 24 hours only I think.

Stress
You always seem to be under a lot of stress, what with dealing with trolls and vandals and people who just don't get it. Relax and have a cookie. You'll feel better (food allergies excepted). -- Cyrius|✎ 06:18, 7 Aug 2004 (UTC)
Not blocking Gzornenplatz as Wik
RickK - the arbcom has accepted a request to look into the Gzornenplatz situation. We have issued an injuction, instructing admins not to block Gzornenplatz as a Wik reincarnation while the case is ongoing (however, his other paroles are still in effect). →Raul654 21:30, Jan 29, 2005 (UTC)

I did not move the discussion, merely duplicated, which is not the same thing at all. I did not mean harm.Squiquifox 02:18, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Unusual articles
I reverted your revert of an anon's modification of two links. I see that anon added several copyvio's subsequently, but in this case they changed redlinks into valid links, and it seemed worthwhile to me.-gadfium 07:42, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Vandalism of Daily Kos
User:68.73.207.198 has thrice vandalized the Kos article. Unresponsive to warnings. I'm fairly sure you're online, and leave it to you. Khanartist 08:21, 2005 Jan 30 (UTC)
Accusation of trolling
Re: User talk:Fvw. I take great offence at being accused of trolling, when I was simply defending myself. If you care to do so, read the relevant edits. - Jakew 01:00, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Hey Rick, can you look at my response on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/S&P CNX Nifty? I think that you are confusing two similar financial terms, a stockmarket index and a stock exchange. I work in the financial industry, and I can guarantee that your concern over the index constituency changing often is unfounded. If you need further clarification, please let me know. --DropDeadGorgias (talk) 21:50, Jan 31, 2005 (UTC)
The Troll
You will not block me. The troll wrote in his user page some disgusting "details" about me, because I block him time after time. You might ask about the troll at the Hebrew wikipedia. You can try here,(village pump). I'm asking you to delete his user page or to block it but empty. Thanks, Krav-hanuka 07:56, 1 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Rick, please see my comment on User talk:Heberw Wikipedia. The Hebrew sentence on the page was personal abuse directed against an administrator on the Hebrew Wikipedia. I believe blanking the page is justified, even though it is a user page. Also, just so you know, Heberw Wikipedia's most significant contribution was a dictionary definition of a Hebrew obscenity, which I speedy-deleted earlier today as vandalism. --Woggly 14:02, 1 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Rick, I've unblocked Krav-hanuka. Removing personal attacks is not vandalism. Jayjg (talk) 21:36, 1 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Feel free to delete this page. I have moved my comment to the correct location, and the page didn't exist before. Gazpacho 08:23, 1 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Your vote
Just asking you to please reconsider your vote in Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Slogan:The foreskin is not a birth defect. If you refer to Category:Political_slogans you will find Evil reptilian kitten-eater from another planet. Some of this stuff is pretty obscure. While Wikipedia does put up with too much nonsense, in this case I believe we have an instance of political speech which is only being presented for the list of slogans. Here is a United Press commentary including the quote [1] There are also T-shirts available. I hoping you can suggest the slogan article should be kept, but correct for NPOV, rather than deletion. Disputing the neutrality of what wikipedia is not.
Hi Rik. Is it forbitten to dispute the neutrality of what wikipedia is not? I put the sign in front of it, and you and some others always rever it. I want to add also that wikipedia is not a football squad. Can I? Faethon 06:42, 2 Feb 2005 (UTC)
This is an answer regarding Deletionaholics page:
- Read the policy, changed the page. It would be nice if you don't {{vfd}} page right away, but actually try to contact the author and possibly resolve the conflict. I do understand that we are all Wikipedians, and i might have been a little hot to start listing people, but you must admit that it was possible for me to take a personal offence to what you have done and to just start going around blanking pages... Please look at my page and at my contributions, it is my belief that i did in fact contribute to Wikipedia enough not to be treated like that. Beta_M talk, |contrib (Ë-Mail)

No need to apologize for being a mite testy! As someone who gets rather cranky on a regular basis myself (e.g. over the CSD 'bots), I understand just how it happens, and therefore have understanding when I'm on the other end. Sorry the split-up was a mite chaotic - I was moving a little more slowly, but TBSDY decided to "just go do it". Ah, the young! :-) Noel (talk) 14:03, 3 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Your proxy tests
Hey, Frank, what's going on with your proxy tests? One of the proxies you tested from just vandalized Gzornenplatz's User page. RickK 06:53, Feb 3, 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah, they're open proxies, figures they'll be used for vandalism. If it turns into a trend and it becomes clear people are using the list created in the history I'll start blocking as I scan. This should only be an issue on this first run though, as after that the runs should become a lot shorter. --fvw* 17:25, 2005 Feb 3 (UTC)

The Toyslove pics
These pics were listed on IFD for a week. There was no consensus to delete. (One user proposed deletion, and one user objected.) So I removed the notices. – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 00:58, Feb 4, 2005 (UTC)
- You can always remove the url. (There's no restriction on the image's usage, and I think most people would prefer the version without the url.) Just a thought. – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 01:03, Feb 4, 2005 (UTC)
- Hmm, that's bad, I voted on the other ones too and I do think that this was just because IfD doesn't get enough eyeballs. I do believe however that based on the fact that the other images from the set were deleted too that there is strong consensus for deleting these images. I have decided to rather unusually (and I hope it remains something unusual) list them again. I'll also list this at RfC to avoid charges of foul play, but I think you might want to vote on this. Thanks. --fvw* 02:04, 2005 Feb 4 (UTC)
From the Incidents Noticeboard
Hey RickK, this is in response to your comments at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. Maybe you weren't following, but the text of poll 4 that I removed was "should Everyking be voted off the island at the next tribal council". That's all I was referring to in my post there on the board. The poll clearly had nothing to do with the related article page and was a clear personal attack. Just to clarify =) [[User:Consequencefree|Ardent†∈]] 08:09, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Vote
Hi RickK, I agree very much with your comments at Wikipedia:Templates for deletion#Offensiveimage. There's a similar vote at Talk:Autofellatio having to do with the autofellatio pic that motivated the template. I'd be interested to hear what you think. Cheers, TIMBO (T A L K) 17:19, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)
FYI
In case you don't know yet, we've had some anons post messages as if you had signed them in various places like RfA (since the anon also forged 172's signature onto other messages, it's pretty easy to tell it's not you). The IPs have been blocked, but you might want to be aware of the situation. --Michael Snow 22:00, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)
I've listed User:Faethon2 and User:Faethon at WP:NOOBS. In answer to your question: What was probably wrong with the original account is that this newbie insists upon publishing xyr account password on xyr user page. Xe then complains when the account is "robbed". Uncle G 23:55, 2005 Feb 4 (UTC)
