Help with Delta Sigma Theta Page

Hello After Midnight. I am attemtpting to add some information to the DREF section of the DST page. I not sure how to cite sources and references. I was attempting to post the information first. Then it was my intention to go back and post the sources where I obtained some of the information, before I could do so Miranda deleted my information and said that I copied without providing a source. Well, when I attempted to go back and cite the source to some of the information Miranda deleted my DREF sections again. First, I am not an expert. Are posters given an opporunity to correct or make changes to the information before it is deleted? Even now when I attempt to go back and post the sources with the DREF inforamtion cited she deletes it. Thanks for your help. You can also email me at historicdst@yahoo.com. Also, I post under ueser name HistoricDST (which was created first) and HistoricDeltaSigmaTheta. I was not sure if I could get my account back when I decided to leave initially. Also, if I am wrong can you show me how to cite the sources correctly? Thanks. [[User:HistoricDST|HistoricDST]] 23:43, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

I am an administrator. Please feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if I can help you with anything.

The Beginning

I have been editing here since April 2006. I started out making a few minor edits here and there and then started cleaning up links in articles to correct ambiguous links.

Help with Delta Sigma Theta Page

Hello After Midnight. I am attemtpting to add some information to the DREF section of the DST page. I not sure how to cite sources and references. I was attempting to post the information first. The early months

Soon after, I decided that there should be succession boxes connecting all the winners of the Indianapolis 500. This led to me discovering that not all of the winners had articles, so I created them for the 10 who didn't. Next, I started looking at the pages for each year's Indy 500 race and began correcting some diacritics for the foreign drivers as well as several ambiguations. There were drivers who did not have their own articles, so, I've started creating them sequentially, going back through the years. I got slowed down, when someone challenged the notability of one of them, so needed to bulk that one up enough to keep it from getting deleted. At this point, I got side-tracked looking at the Year in IRL articles. I started on the same clean-ups as I had on the above and once again started creating articles, until all were complete. At some point I noticed a discrepancy in the results for one of the Indy 500 races, so now I worked my way backwards from 2006 to make sure they were all correct. I got as far as 1955 before I stopped. Someday, I may get back to this. I also was intending to check all the (R)ookie and previous (W)inner flags at the same time, but stopped this around 1995 - something else to get back to someday.

Disambiguation and other project items

I have started working on the big disambiguation projects from Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages with links. So far, I have completed 10 of them. I used to be found often on patrol at new pages. I also liked to go through the deletion logs to look for reposts and db-talks on occasion. In August, I got VandalProof, so, now I was scanning recent changes also. I don't do NPP or RC much any more, but I've left the UBX's up as a memory and a reminder that I may do that again in the future.

Things I planned to get to some day... but no longer sure I will

Several of the Year 24 Hours of Le Mans articles have text that could link to articles about the drivers. I will probably clean some up, but will probably not create articles for these. I was thinking of doing something for the 12 Hours of Sebring, maybe links for text, but can't remember.... Similar for Johnny Parsons, maybe something about the article saying there are 12 Indy 500 starts and not seeing links to that many - probably a mix-up with Johnnie Parsons, father. Also, I jotted down these names (Fabrizio Barbazza, Jim Clark, Mark Donohue, Denny Hulme, Parnelli Jones, Graham McRae, Rick Mears, Vern Schuppan - rookie sort, Jackie Stewart, Bill Vukovich) as being special for something.... I can't check now because it will mess up my history, but I'll get it later. It probably has something to do with being on a List of ..... from a category related to Indy 500 drivers or rookies or something. Tony Bettenhaussen needs correcting, but once again, I'll get it as I go year by year. User talk:After Midnight/Archive 1#On "co" label

I may create a userbox for VU....

What I've beeen doing more recently

Most recently, I've been going through the pageant articles, cleaning up categorization, formatting, etc. I've been through about 7 major pageant series so far. I still do some DAB work and I have an extensive watchlist which I often check out for changes. I also have done a bit of work on XFDs, mostly categories. Oh yeah, I also spend a fair amount of time at Portal:Current events/Sports.
