Operation:Knightfall also known as Raid on the Jedi Temple was a Star Wars event that took place during the Great Jedi Purge in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Newly appointed Sith Darth Vader led the 501st Legion to Raid the Jedi Temple and destroy the Jedi.

Pre-raid Events

• Order 66 is given
• Jedi Master Mace Windu is killed

Raid

Vader, with the 501st Legion, approached the Temple gates where Jedi Master Jurokk stood guard; Jurokk asked about Master Windu. Vader asked where Shaak Ti was, and Jurrock informed him that she was in the Communications room. Jurokk once again asked if something was wrong, to which Vader replied by igniting his Lightsaber through the Padawan's jaw. He went to the Jedi Library, where he asked Jocasta Nu to grant him access to the Temple's signal beacon. Jocasta Nu sensed something suspicious, and she ignited her lightsaber. Vader used the force to impale her, then threw her body aside. A fight between the Jedi and clonetroopers erupted; the clones were at first unsuccessful. Vader destroyed the shield and sent a signal for the all Jedi to come to the temple. A clone trooper informed Vader that Cin Drallig had infiltrated the Temple. Vader said that he would deal with him. On his way he stopped in the training room to deal with the younglings. Going down the halls, he was confronted by Drallig's apprentice Serra Keto. During the duel, Vader used the Force to crush Serra with a broken pillar. He entered the Room of a Thousand Fountains, were Jedi Padawans Bene and Whie Malreaux dueled him. Bene was force choked and Malreaux was struck in the chest. Vader approached Drallig, as clone troopers blasted the other Jedi. Drallig swung at Vader, but missed- Vader cutting his arm off, leaving him there to die. The rest of the Jedi escaped out to the top of the Jedi temple where they were killed by Venator-class Star Destroyer turbolaser fire.

Aftermath

Obi Wan Kenobi and Master Yoda returned to the temple. After defeating the Clone troopers guarding the temple, Yoda disabled the signal. Obi Wan, curious, checked the security footage to see his former apprentice killing younglings and murdering Bene and Drallig. Obi wan almost fainted at the sight, not believing it.
