Hydrophis is a genus of sea snakes in the family Hydrophiidae. They are typically found in Indoaustralian and Southeast Asian waters. Currently, 34 species are recognized.[1] The genus is also sometimes classified as a member of the family Elapidae in some classification schemes. Hydrophiidae in this case, is relegated to subfamily status as Hydrophiinae.

There are 34 recognized species in the genus Hydrophis.[1]
