Washim is a city and a municipal council in Washim district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Washim is a headquarter of newly formed Washim district

Washim which was also known as Vatsagulma was the seat of power during Vakataka dynasty.

Geography

Washim is located at 20°06′N 77°09′E / 20.1°N 77.15°E / 20.1; 77.15[1]. It has an average elevation of 546 metres (1791 feet).

In washim one famous temple of Lord Balaji which was built in near 1800 century.
