Claire Bloom (born 15 February 1931) is a British actress. She is known for playing Shakespearean roles, as well as for appearing in movies, for example Laurence Olivier's Richard III and The Spy Who Came in from the Cold.
She was married to author Philip Roth. In her memoir, Leaving a Doll's House, she claims Roth's sexual promiscuity ended their marriage.
