Fifth Avenue is a long, important street in Pittsburgh. It begins in downtown Pittsburgh and moves eastward for about seven or eight miles (12-14 km). Fifth Avenue passes by the Cathedral of Learning and WQED, through Shadyside and skirts past Chatham University and nearby East Liberty before it ends. At least 30 streets either cross or intersect with Fifth Avenue.
