Manhasset Hills is a hamlet (and census-designated place) located in Nassau County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 3,661.
Geography
Manhasset Hills is located at 40°45'33" North, 73°40'47" West (40.759230, -73.679861)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.5 km² (0.6 mi²). 1.5 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 3,661 people, 1,224 households, and 1,068 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 2,395.8/km² (6,175.1/mi²). There are 1,235 housing units at an average density of 808.2/km² (2,083.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 70.39% White, 0.36% African American, 0.03% Native American, 27.04% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.66% from other races, and 1.53% from two or more races. 3.31% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,224 households out of which 37.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 81.2% are married couples living together, 4.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 12.7% are non-families. 10.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.99 and the average family size is 3.22.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 24.2% under the age of 18, 6.0% from 18 to 24, 20.3% from 25 to 44, 29.0% from 45 to 64, and 20.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 45 years. For every 100 females there are 92.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.1 males.
