"Grabow was originally settled, together with Blumenthal, in what was then the Prignitz, in the early 13th century by the Counts von Plotho using their vassal by Nikolaus von Blumenthal, of Blumenthal and Grabow (after which the new settlement was named) in the diocese of Magdeburg, as Locator."

Surely, as the Slavonic origin of its name testifies, it would have been originally settled several centuries earlier, by the Polabian/Pomeranian Slavs? The process of 13c. locations should not be confused with original settlement!
