Alma was the first wife of Orson Hodge. She married him in 1990. In the season 3 premiere, it is revealed that she was planning to leave Orson, but Orson found out about this at the last moment. Bree became suspicious that Orson killed her. After several months, Alma returned to Wisteria Lane to reveal she is alive and well, having lived in Winnipeg with an aunt since she left Orson, and wanting to reconcile with him. After a welcome dinner which was held by Orson's new wife Bree, Alma moved into the neighborhood permanently and purchased the Applewhite home. She also knew about Orson running over Mike Delfino.
Alma wanted a child so desperately that she faked her own suicide. Gloria Hodge, Orson's mother, then drugged him while Alma raped him in order to get pregnant. When Bree learned of Orson's whereabouts, she rushed over and, after she realized that he was knocked out cold, she put together that Alma indeed raped Orson. She punched Alma, knocking her out, and then attempted to get Orson home. After Alma learned that Orson told Bree everything and that she has forgiven him to an extent, Gloria locked her in a closet. While trying to escape and to try and get Danielle Van De Kamp to notice her Alma loses her grip on the roof and falls to her death.
When Orson brings Gloria to Alma's house, he finds her dead and places Gloria by her body. Ida Greenberg finds them the next morning and the police, upon finding Alma's original suicide note and the bag of Monique's teeth, come to the conclusion the Alma murdered Monique and was killed by falling from her roof.
