Unfortunately, some facts are just wrong. For example, IVC is sometimes used in a barrier facility, sometimes, not. Its purpose is threefold:

# increase density,
# reduce the vulnerability of the colony to pathogens, and
# protect workers from allergens.

Also, SPF animals are not necessarily more susceptible to pathogens, but they are kept free of specific pathogens that may affect research. It's probably best to leave the definition of SPF to the SPF article. That's the first change I made.

Writing a Wikipedia article is easier if you have source material in front of you. While it's nice to have an article for every subject, the guidelines recommend that all facts included in the article be sourced from reliable sources. If there are no citations, it is either [[WP:No Original Research|original research]] or [[Template:Unreferenced|unreferenced]] material.

Unfortunately, some facts are just wrong. For example, IVC is sometimes used in a barrier facility, sometimes, not. Its purpose is threefold:

  1. increase density,
  2. reduce the vulnerability of the colony to pathogens, and
  3. protect workers from allergens.

If there are no citations, it is either original research or unreferenced material.
