While hunting with Renn and Wolf, Torak finds an Eagle Owl Feather, an object believed to be a terrible [[omen]]. Trying to ignore it; Torak, hesitantly decides not to show it to Renn and Wolf. Torak also gets a Soul Eater tattoo forced on him by one of the Soul Eaters, Seshru the Viper Mage. When they catch up with Renn she threatens to drop the Opal, distracting the Soul Eaters to give Torak enough time to spirit walk into a polar bear and wreak havoc on the Soul Eaters. The Soul Eater Nef, owing a debt to Torak's deceased father sacrifices herself into the crack of a closing iceberg. The book ends by Torak and Renn being escorted back to the Raven Clan camp by Fin-Kedinn and pondering his thoughts. |

Soul Eater is the third book in the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness written by Michelle Paver and first published in 2006. There will be six titles in total. It portrays outstanding loyalty and friendship, betrayal and power.
It's winter and Wolf, Torak's beloved pack-brother has been captured by an unknown foe. In a desperate bid to rescue him, Torak and Renn must brave the frozen wilderness of the Far North. As they battle for survival amid howling blizzards and the ever present menace fo the great white bear, their friendship is tested to the breaking point, and Torak is forced to get closer to his enemies than ever before...
