Thanks for reverting the vandalism to the page about Kurt Cobain's death. You must have spotted it right before I did. I was about to revert it in accordance with policy, but you beat me to it. As soon as I saw it, and realized that it had to be vandalism, I began to research the procedure for reporting/reverting vandalism, since this was my first time seeing any. By the time I got past the wikipedia:vandalism policy page, you had already fixed it (I assume that was you). I dislike seeing my user name anywhere near such stuff. I hope you placed one of those blatantvandal warnings on the talk page of the offender, as I was about to (try to) do. By the way, your user page is impressive.

Anyway, my question is: How does one figure out who vandalized a page?

Chemistry portal FA

Hi,

I just wanted to explain why I reverted gramicidin from being the FA on the chemistry portal. When the portal was set up we (at Wikipedia:WikiProject Chemistry) agreed to just use articles that had achieved FA status for this purpose. The person who set up the portal, User:~K, has taken on the responsibility of picking the "FA of the month", and we are trusting that we can generate enough FAs to keep the page supplied. Until the gramicidin article achieves FA status, I'm afraid it shouldn't be put as the portal featured article. Hello again, thanks for the prompt reply. One of the best ways is sign up here and/or here, then to look at the Chemicals worklist (well established) or the Chemistry worklist (not substances, & still pretty new). Find a topic or set of related topics you want to work on, then maybe tell us with a note in the comments column of the worklist or on the project talk page. If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to ask on the appropriate project talk page. Vandalism to Great Pyramid of Giza

Thanks for cleaning up the damage. I was having a literall war with that prankster and he was vandalizing as quick as I could revert and try to lay in a warning. Jgassens, the image you nominated for deletion is on Wikimedia Commons, and therefore cannot be deleted through Wikipedia. I commented at the deletion page and then noticed this, and so removed it. My argument for why it shouldn't be deleted is, however, below:

• That's not a valid reason for deletion. Also, the image was generated my me from an existing raster image. A search on the web will show countless references to this design—it is quite notable. The fact that it is not an official flag is completely irrelevant to whether or not it should be kept. What your argument behind the 50 stars comment is, I do not know.

If you decide to attempt to have it deleted on Commons, you will, I hope, notify me of this so that I may make my voice heard. Lexicon (talk) 19:33, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I don't see it that way. The article states that it is not a flag of the United States. There are plenty of unofficial flags on Wikipedia. If enough people are using it as a civil flag, it is irrelevant that it is not an official civil flag. That's not to say that I feel that it's terribly relevant, but the fact that it's not legally recognized is not an issue here. It's also not a "hoax" in the way you're thinking—the flag's "creation" may be a "hoax", but the article is not a hoax, it is a description of the flag and its history (however recent). Don't take it personal

Don't worry about it. Just tone it down on the talk page. People have different views. Most are open to new ideas (I am--note how I changed my vote). As for calling you reversion vandalism, it wasn't anything personal and was in no way a negative reflection on you. As was pointed out by an admin, it is bad form to remove such information when the issue is the quality of sourcing. People looking to discuss the deletion need the full picture about the article. Deleting what may, or may not be a quality source hinders this. No hard feelings. CraigMonroe 01:03, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Aspirin has been selected as this week's Pharmacology Collaboration of the Week! Please help us bring this article up to featured standards during the week. The goal is to nominate this at WP:FAC on September 10, 2007.

• Garrondo is asking for individuals to help review Therapies for multiple sclerosis, as he is considering nominating this article for GA status.

• Fvasconcellos notes that discussion is ongoing regarding the current wording of MEDMOS on including dosage information in drug articles. All input is welcome.

WikiProject Pharmacology Update

Here's a brief update in some of the recent developments of WikiProject Pharmacology!

• Aspirin has just completed its two week run as the first Collaboration of the Week! Many thanks to those editors that contributed; the article got a lot of good work accomplished, and in particular, much work was done in fixing up the history section. It's still not quite "done" yet (is a wikipedia article really ever done?), but after two weeks I think it's more important to push onwards with the development of the new collaboration of the week program. I will be fixing up Aspirin in the next few days and possibly nominating it for either GA or FA status.

• Muscle relaxant has been selected as the new Collaboration of the week until October 2, 2007! This article is currently rated as a "stub", so it's got quite a bit of work cut out for collaborators! Admittedly, featured status could be a long way off,... but still attainable! At the least, maybe we could at least get it up to meeting the Good article criteria? Please stop by the article and help improve it.

• Resveratrol, having recently achieved GA status on August 16, 2007, is now making a run for featured status. This is quite a fascinating compound. If you can, please stop by its discussion page and leave comments in support of it.

• Please remember that Wikipedia is not a forum for discussing or dispensing medical advice amongst users. Specifically, talk pages of articles should only be used to discuss improving the actual article in question. To help alleviate this situation, the template {{talkheader}} may be added to the top of talk pages, reminding users of the purpose of such pages. Additionally, unsigned comments and comments by anonymous users that are inappropriate may be removed from talk pages without being considered vandalism.

• There was an interesting article on ZDNet last week about Hewlett Packard licensing its patented microneedle technology used in common inkjet printers to be used in transdermal patches to deliver a time-controlled release of drugs to patients. This information could be added to articles such as route of administration or drug delivery.

WikiProject Pharmacology Update

Here are a few updates in the realm of WikiProject Pharmacology:

• The Pharmacology Collaboration of the Week has been changed to Collaboration of the Month, based on current participation levels. It is also more likely that articles collaborated on for one month are more likely to achieve featured quality than articles worked on for only a week or two.

• The current Collaboration of the Month for November is Receptor antagonist. Please take a look at that article and contribute to it if you get a chance. Ideally, the article should adhere to the featured article criteria.

• Therapies for multiple sclerosis is currently a featured article candidate. If you are familiar with the featured article criteria, please visit WP:FAC and review the article.

• Anabolic steroid is the wikiproject's newest Featured Article, having been promoted on October 8, 2007.

• Theobromine was delisted as a Good Article. The Peer review and GA reassessment discussions provide suggestions on improvement. Muscle relaxant was recently reviewed for Good Article status, but not promoted. Please see the full review full review here for details.
