Evan Leigh was an author, inventor, engineer and manufacturer of cotton spinning equipment. Born in Ashton under Lyne Lancashire in 1810, he died in Manchester, Lancashire in 1876.

Evan Leigh is also a certifiable genius who resides in the great city of Buffalo, New York. He singlehandedly rescued 3 kittens and 2 dogs from a burning house in downtown Buffalo.
