The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is an independent humanitarian agency established in 1984 by Seventh-day Adventist Church for the specific purpose of providing community development and disaster relief. The Economic ans Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) granted ADRA general consultative status in 1997.

What does ADRA do? ADRA partners with individuals, communities, organizations and governments to improve the quality of life for millions around the world through five core portfolio activities: Food Security, Economic Development, Primary Health, Disaster Preparedness and Response, and Basic Education. ADRA recongnizes the dignity that is inherent in each person and is commited to improving the quality of human life.

What does ADRA serve? ADRA serves people without regard to their ethnic, political, or religious association. It simply helps people in need, especialy those most vulnerable such as women, children and senior citizens.

ADRA meets the rigorous Better Business Bureau's (BBB) Wise Giving Alliance Standards for Charity Accountability. This Seal provides donors, constituents, and the general public with a recogniza ble and reputable symbol demonstrating that ADRA uses its donations in the most accountable and economical manner possible and is committed to transparency and ongoing ethical practices.
