Referring to the linked article the island area is 133,918 acres what makes 209.249 sq mi. It makes the island third largest in contiguous USA. Anybody noticed that?


The acreage refers to Padre Island, which is largely uninhabited; South Padre Island is, sensibly, on South Padre Island, which is, surprise, due south of Padre Island.
I think there's some confusion going on with Padre Island vs. South Padre Island. I added it back to the longest islands list.

I think there's some confusion going on with Padre Island vs. South Padre Island. I added it back to the longest islands list.
