Butterhuizen, part of the municipality of Heerhugowaard, is a village in the province of North Holland, the Netherlands.
Geography
Butterhuizen in the south of Heerhugowaard. The city of Heerhugowaard is five miles north of Alkmaar and thirty-five miles north of the famous city of Amsterdam.
Demographics
Butterhuizen has about 1,200 houses including rental houses. The average house-price is about 280,000 euros. There are houses costing more than 500,000 euros, making Butterhuizen a very expensive municipality.
History
The township of Butterhuizen was built during the late 1980s and early 1990s. All the construction work was finished in late 1993. Since 1994 all the streets have been paved.
