La Aurora International Airport (IATA: GUA, ICAO: MGGT) serves Guatemala City, Guatemala and is located 6km south of Guatemala City's centre. It is administered by the Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil and is Guatemala's busiest and largest airport, followed by Mundo Maya International Airport near Flores, Petén.
La Aurora Airport will be going through some expansions, to provide a better service to passengers and airlines, so it will be able to accept a greater number flights and larger aircraft. A terminal is being built that will house a total of twenty-two aircraft. It is expected that the project will be completed in December 2007.
On June 2007 the airport was certified as Category I by the FAA.

- Delta Airlines announced service to New York-JFK beginning December 14, 2007 operating three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
- Continental Airlines announced a new, third daily flight to Houston and has stepped up service from Newark to three times per week (Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday) starting on December 18, 2007. The new flights are not seasonal and can be booked throughout 2008.
