"Padre de Familia" |
---|
"Padre de Familia" is a season six episode of the FOX animated television series Family Guy.
Plot summary
After attending a Veterans' Day parade, Peter begins to take great pride in his American citizenship. Noticing that illegal immigrants are taking several good jobs, Peter starts an anti-immigrant campaign to keep them out of his glorious country--that is, until he finds out he was born in Mexico. Because his mother forgot to sign his citizenship papers before crossing back into America after his birth, Peter is labeled as an illegal immigrant himself. Unable to pass the naturalization test or prove the legitimacy of his marriage to Lois, he subsequentially becomes unemployed and is separated from his wife by authorities. Peter ends up working as a groundskeeper on Carter Pewterschmidt's estate where, having opted to change his views, he leads the fight for more immigration rights.[1]

Notes
- The title of this episode is the same as the title of the Spanish version of the show (which literally translates to "Father of the Family."
- Santos and Pasqual, the Portuguese fishermen who were once employed under Peter, will return, having not been seen since "The Perfect Castaway".
- This episode reuses the "ball in a cup" joke from "The Fat Guy Strangler".
