Brinnington(Brinny) is a north-eastern suburb of Stockport, Greater Manchester. It is situated on a bluff above a bend in the Tame Valley and is an area of vast regeneration, it consists mainly of council owned dwellings including high rise flats. To the west of Brinnington is an area known as Reddish Vale, a country park. Ten minutes walk away on a bend in the river, near the viaduct is the local beauty spot known as 'Brinny Beach'. This is popular with families in summertime as the river is deep and wide enough to swim in. Deposits of sand enable sunbathing and other pastimes associated with the seaside.

Brinnington is served by Brinnington railway station on the Hope Valley Line from Sheffield to Manchester.
