Party of Tatar National Independence İttifaq or Ittifak (Template:Lang-tt, Template:Lang-ru ) is a party, founded in Tatar ASSR in April 1990 and registered on January 3, 1992[1], being the first non-communist party in Tatarstan. It is referred as Tatar nationalist party. In was named in honour of Ittifaq al-Muslimin party of the earliest Russian Duma.
The aims, claimed by the party are:
- the revival of the Tatar nation
- the restoring of the Tatar statehood
- the recognition of the Tatar state as international entity
The permanent leader of Ittifaq party is Fäwziä Bäyrämova. She has been leader for more than 10 years. The party had an organ - Altın Urda newspaper in 1993-1998.[2]
