If it was, in fact, a religious school(Roberta Sparrow left her Convent and started teaching there, further supporting the idea that it's not a religious school), he'd be able to discuss it, without fear of being fired. And there's nothing to indicate that the school's a private school either, except for the fact that the school used in the filming was a private Catholic school.

Choice of Title

Why is this page named "Donald Darko" when the main character is referred only as Donnie throughout the film? If you wanted a distinction between the movie page and an individual character page, it would seem to make more sense to name the character page something like "Donnie Darko (fictional_character)" instead of naming the page with an incorrect name simply to make a distinction between the two pages.

He's refered to as Donald Darko several times. Sam Orchard 15:50, 23 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, I agree with Kat. His full name may be Donald Darko, but he is best known as Donnie Darko. I'll rename the page. --DearPrudence (talk) 06:40, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Minor fact checking needed

I have noticed several instances of speculation and statements with no reasoning or supporting sources to verify them. Particularly the article stating that he uses telekinesis to rip the engine off of the plane, and that he requested "hungry hungry hippos" for his most recent christmas. Also, some sentence structuring needs to be revised. Incetardis101 03:00, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's never explicitly stated but I can at least confirm that the former seems to be possible, at least according to some of the material included on the DVD..
I would dispute, however, that his school is religious, because when Donnie was speaking with his science teacher, as soon as Donnie wandered into the realm of religion, the teacher informed Donnie that he couldn't continue the conversation, as it would endanger his job.

I think the school is explicitly stated as private in the Director's Cut.

he didnt telekeneticly remove the engine, the engine hit the wormhole causeing it to go back in time, but since the rest of the plane didnt make contact it seamed asthough it was "ripped off" and also even if the school isnt religous the teachers are not aloud to enter rligion into discussion like that because then they would get fired for "attempting to alter student belief" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.228.221.197 (talk) 03:40, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
