Location of the Diocese of San Joaquin

The Anglican Diocese of San Joaquin, headquartered in in Fresno, California.

The diocese is one of the most conservative in the US. It was one of only three in ECUSA that did not ordain women (those that remain are the Diocese of Quincy and the Diocese of Fort Worth). On 8 December, 2007, the Diocese voted to leave the Episcopal Church and align with the Anglican Province of the Southern Cone.

The diocesan bishop, John David Schofield, was consecrated October 9, 1988 and became diocesan December 15,1988.

The cathedral of the diocese is St. James' Cathedral Church.

On December 8, 2007 the diocese voted to secede from the ECUSA.[1] This is the first entire diocese to secede from the ECUSA since the American Civil War.
