Can You please adopt me?

I've had a rough start to wikipedia, I just finished a block, but that was not because i was trying to be deliberately disruptive, but because I was trying to help and made a mistake.

I am quite desperate!

Thank-You —Preceding unsigned comment added by Joeseth1992 (talkcontribs) 20:33, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hi... about joseth1992

well, it seems that although his account isnt that new, he has only attempted to start using it within the last week. I am a new user myself, and am adopted by someone else, so im not exactly in a position to adopt this user lol. However, as I knew him in real life, I told him that i would help him out here and there on wikipedia until he found an adopter. He was having difficulties settling into the site, and was hoping that the adopter could help set him on course. Joseth1992 is very adapt in English skills, having taken English GCSEs 2 years early, and he said that the contributions he wanted to make to wikipedia would be relevant to improving the grammar and english of the site. I told him that he should attempt to express these skills to possible adopters, so they would understand what kind of level he is at, and what kind of contributions he could make. However, when applying to this person to adopt him User:Eugene2x‎, he wrote him a story (which you will find in the talkpage's history), thinking that it would impress the user with his english skills enough to take him on board (as he was getting quite desperate as with every thing he did he only kept hittin more walls). However, the story was not exactly very appropriate, and the user got blocked. I know he really has been trying hard, and yes he has made a few mistakes, but with an adopter i'm sure that could change, as his contributions were with good intentions. However, he is unaible to do this while he is blocked. He appealed several times against the block as you can see on his talk page... if you sympathise, then i'm sure he will be more than happy to be adopted by you, but until he is unblocked, he cannot make progress either way. When I first joined wikipedia, I was blocked twice through ignorance of the rules, and my situation was only growing worse and worse. However, I got adopted, and the change was dramatic. I have made quite a few contributions to wikipedia since then, and I know that hope to make many more in the future. It just shows that anyone with good intentions can be taught...

Happy wikipediaing ;) Iamandrewrice 09:50, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

hmmm

good question. I have no idea. I'm curious, where do you live. Not specifically, just what state.--yours truly, Edgar Allen Poe 21:43, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

i noticed the star wars quote at the bottom of the page. IT IS THE MOST AMAZING QUOTE EVER. You know i've never really met anyone who likes star wars AND harry potter AND twilight. i thought i was the only one. sorry about bad punctuation and stuff; i'm really freaked out right now. Feel free to add any other book suggestions on my page. --yours truly, Edgar Allen Poe 21:49, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ooooooooo. Mysterious. It's okay, i don't care. I'm not a stalker or anything, i was just interested. You know it would be really weird if we knew each other but we didn't know that we knew. Okay i'm going to stop talking before i say something stupid(er).--yours truly, Edgar Allen Poe 21:54, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Very insightful. I like the quote because of how real it is. Star Wars kind of reflects the world we live in and voices opinions without actually calling names. Plus it's fun to watch.--yours truly, Edgar Allen Poe 22:09, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not offended. I know what you mean about paranoid. I almost never share anything on the internet. I was just curious. Sorry if i freaked you out.--yours truly, Edgar Allen Poe 22:12, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Me too. I added it to my user page.--yours truly, Edgar Allen Poe 22:26, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm still learning my way around Wikipedia so any helpful hints would be welcome. I'm working on my signature right now.--'yours truly, Edgar Allen PoeRed word 22:33, 7 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'm having trouble finding something interesting to do - any ideas about what I can get involved with? Nearly all the WikiProjects I've looked at seem to be dead :P. --Palatinus Regni!!! 07:59, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
