Kumbakarna, sometimes written as Khumbhakarna, was the sole brother of Ravana, the king of Lanka in the Hindu text the Ramayana. He was a giant over a hundred times the size of normal men. He was supposed to have slept for six months straight following another six months of raucous violence and self-indulgence, including eating men and drinking blood. He was slain by Lakshmana, Rama’s brother, during the course of the story.
