== The Gap Volleyball Program ==

The Gap High Volleyball program proudly boasts its first National Schools Cup medal placing. Such an achievement has been a bittersweet ending for the majority of the teams players, who have been with the un-distinguished team for 5 years. This year the team recorded 9 wins and one loss against some of the nations best volleyball schools.

The champion team was compiled of :

( Coach ) - David Kuchler
( Pass Hitter ) Stuart " Yellow Dart " Wilkinson
( Pass hitter ) Richard Modderman
( Setter ) Leon Bell
( Setter ) Mark Dobson
( Libero ) Rob Walsh
( Middle Hitter ) Steven Bondio
( Middle hitter / Setter / Opposite ) Pat Carberry (Captain)

The first game of the AVSC ended in tragedy for the teams' rotation system when Steven Bondio managed to sprain his ankle, rendering him incapacitated for the rest of the week. Despite this , the gap team produced flawless volleyball and endured a changed rotation system forcing players to play in positions out of their comfort zone. The team played the whole week winning 9 games and losing only once, without having any subs to spare.
