The Principality or Duchy of Troppau (in Czech: Vojvodství Opavské, in Polish: Księstwo Opawsloe, in German: Herzogtum Troppau) was a Silesian duchy from 13th century.
It was based in the city of Opava (also known as Template:Lang-de when part of the Austrian Empire), now Czech Republic.
Unlike some other Silesian duchies, Troppau was not inherited by any cadets of the House of Piast but became the possession of Nicholas, a natural son of king Otakar II of Bohemia. Troppau's princely dynasty was thus an illegitimate offshoot of the House of Premysl.
Descendants of Nicholas I, Duke of Troppau, ruled Troppau and Ratibor. This line ended in 1521, with the death of Valentin, Duke of Ratibor.
