The Uttradhi Arora, literally the Northern Aroras, are a major subgroup of the Arora social caste in India. They are Kshatriya in terms of varna. In historical legend, the Aroras were forced to flee persecution at the hands of Parasurama and left through three main gates from their hometown. Those that fled north became the Uttradhi Aroras, while others fled west and south. These Aroras were separated from each other and developed much their own cultural ways, although recent intermarriage between the groups have led to a negation of these differences.[1]
