Lili (リリ Riri, full name Lili Rochefort) is a character in the Tekken fighting game series. Along with Sergei Dragunov, she is one of the two characters first introduced in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. She is also set to appear in Tekken 6.

Story

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection

Lili is the only daughter of a wealthy oil magnate residing in Monaco, living in a very luxurious suburban mansion with her butler, Sebastian. Four years ago, when she was 12 years old, while being attacked by a criminal group making profits from kidnappings, Lili struggled violently to free herself, and she unexpectedly took out one of her captors. At that moment, she first realized she took pleasure in defeating her opponents. However, deep down, Lili really is a gentle person and a very sweet young lady.

She only wants to please her father, but she knows that he despises fighting because he wants his daughter to be a prim and proper lady, not a thug. Troubled by her situation, she tells herself, “I don’t want Father to be upset with me…but I also want to fight.” Her desire to fight couldn’t be controlled, and for this reason, she uses her family's private jet to travel abroad to take part in worldwide street fighting tournaments, which she enjoyed immensely. This was done under the guise of a "vacation" from her homeland.

One day, after defeating an opponent in San Francisco, she acquired an invitation to The King Of Iron Fist Tournament 5. Lili noticed that the sponsor of the tournament, the Mishima Zaibatsu, had caused her father much trouble in the past. With the assumption of the Mishima Zaibatsu being a useful potential asset to her father, she was determined to take part in the tournament and win to put an end to her father's business troubles.

Tekken 6

Lili competed in the King Of Iron Fist Tournament 5 behind her father’s back, but was defeated by Asuka Kazama. Once her father had found out about Lili’s participation, she was grounded, preventing her from claiming revenge on Asuka.

One day, her father’s oil fields are taken over by Mishima Zaibatsu control, and his company falls into disrepute, her father suffering greatly from overwork. The Mishima Zaibatsu later announces the King of Iron Fist Tournament 6. Lili deduces that she can reclaim her father’s oil field if she wins the upcoming tournament, easing the anxiety of her father. Lili decides to participate in the tournament to save her father.

General Description

Appearance

Lili is a Monegasque teenager with long blonde hair trimmed with bangs. In her first-player outfit, she dresses in a grey corset and grey jeans with white sneakers. Her second-player outfit (also her primary outfit, as shown in promotional pictures and her epilogue) is a white satin Victorian-style skirt dress with long sleeves. Underneath the sleeves and skirt is white lace, and she wears white go-go boots with red knee socks on her feet and legs. She also appears to be left handed, as she can be seen holding bowling balls with her left hand in the Tekken Bowl minigame (only in PSP version). She, like all other characters, gets two extra outfits in Tekken 6

In Tekken: Dark Resurrection, one of Lili's customization parts includes having the Prince of All Cosmos from Katamari Damacy on her head. Her secondary hair colors are black and pink.

Personality

In general, Lili's behavior appears haughty, as she seems to strive for grace, beauty, and poise with every movement—even and especially during fights. She is also very confident in her fighting abilities, as shown by her winning and pre-match quotes. Her behavior, however, is split between efforts to sate her own need for fighting and a deep love for her father. As an example of the latter, before fighting her Stage Four sub-boss, Ganryu, Lili says that he has robust eyebrows, just like her father's. She also says that Ganryu has a "strapping face" after defeating him.

Fighting Style

Her "street fighting" style appears to mix moves from classical dance and/or ballet. Other moves derive from gymnastics techniques, such as cartwheels and handstands. Some may say that it resembles a form of wushu. Others say that it may be tricking, a comparatively new martial art form.

Lili's Ending

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection

Lili and her butler, Sebastian, celebrate her victory over the Mishimas, with Sebastian emotionally dabbing at his eyes with a handkerchief and Lili bursting into laughter at the thought of how pleased her father will be when he learns of the collapse of the Mishima Financial Empire and of her participation in the King of Iron Fist Tournament 5. Meanwhile, Lili's chauffeur, waiting in a limousine, turns on an in-car television to discover that Rochefort Enterprises has declared bankruptcy after a main trading and business partner, the Mishima Zaibatsu, collapsed. The chaffeur is visibly shocked at this. Lili, however, is blissfully unaware and laughing. The chauffeur flees the limousine as the camera pulls back from an aerial view.
