The Boa Constrictor Imperator, known as a Common Boa, is a subspecies of the Boa Constrictor. As one of the smaller Boa subspecies[1], they average between 1.3m and 2.5m in length[2] when fully grown, and have been known to reach 3.7m[3]. They are usually around 6kg[4] in weight and the females are significantly larger than males[5]. Their lifespan in the wild is around 20-30[6] years but can exceed 40[7] in captivity.
