Michelle Franzen is a National Correspondent for NBC NEWS CHANNEL based in New York since 2001. She reports for NBC affiliate stations, MSNBC, Today and Nightly News. Her reporting includes extensive live reporting from New York City and Ground Zero during 9/11 and numerous enterprise follow-up stories on 9/11's aftermath. She has reported from the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, covered national and international politics, presidential primaries and elections, economic issues as well as numerous regional events, from floods to hurricanes.

From 1998-2001 Michelle was a Reporter and Fill-in anchor for NBC KRON in San Francisco were reporting include extensive coverage of the San Francisco dog mauling death of Diane Whipple, LIVE reporting on the Yosemite National Park Sund-Pelosso and Armstrong murders, LIVE reporting on mudslides, fires and floods in Northern California as well as national, local and state elections and politics.
