Hmm. I came to this article having just read about 'tapers' being used for lighting purposes and wondering what they were, and instead I find something on the thickness of cymbals. I would have thought that 'taper' is, by definition, something that thins out, so I would not exclusively donate this article to cymbal-making. Tapers for lighting sound very interesting and like they have nothing to do with the common definition at all, for instance.
