Barnabas Sibusiso Dlamini (born 15 May 1942) was Prime Minister of Swaziland from 26 July 1996 to 29 September 2003.
Prior to serving as Prime Minister, Dlamini was the country's finance minister from 1984 to 1993. He was also an executive director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).[1] Since leaving office as Prime Minister in 2003, he has been an advisor to King Mswati III.[2]
Dlamini was a candidate, backed by the Swazi government, for the position of Chairperson of the African Union Commission in early 2008.[2][3][4][5] but the government subsequently withdrew his candidacy out of solidarity with the Southern African Development Community (SADC), so that it could present a single candidate.[5]
