The Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards is an annual award voted on by web cartoonists themselves, much like the Academy Awards. The nominations ballots for the 8th annual award cover webcomics active in 2007 and were emailed to pre-registered voters by 2008-01-07 with voting closing on 2008-01-23,[1]. Nominations were announced on 2008-02-03[2] with voting on those finalists to commence on 2008-02-08 with a live ceremony for the winners to be hosted by MegaCon on 2008-03-08.[3] and in an online ceremony.

The 26 categories from 2007 have been reduced to 18 for 2008, with divisions for art and writing.[4]
