Voodoo Tiki is a brand of tequila, produced by Voodoo Tiki Tequila Corporation, made of 100% blue agave, and available in 18 US states and 4 other countries.

Production

The tequila is from the small Mexican town of Capilla de Guadalupe in the Corazón de Los Altos region of Jalisco, Mexico.

The area is known for producing top-quality agave plants, which are allowed to grow for 10–12 years. Once harvested the pinas are steamed slowly in hornos (controlled ovens) for 50–72 hours, until the desired sweet agave flavor is reached. The baked agave is pressed to release its juices, which are then fermented, distilled twice and barreled as tequila.

Types

The line's Platinum Silver, Reposado and Anejo are bottled in hand-blown bottles with a glass tiki inside. These bottles are hand-signed and numbered and each contain a different "magic word". Also offered are infused tequilas, including Blue Dragon (Blue Kiwi), Green Dragon (Lime) and Desert Rose (Prickly Pear).

Under the direction of Master Artisan, Alehandro Nuramo, a team work together to create each bottle. Both elements, the bottle and the tiki, are handblown.[1]

History

Developed in 2001 by writer, director John Taddeo. The company's President is Donna DeCunzo-Taddeo, former internet dietitian.[2].

Distribution

Voodoo Tiki Tequila is imported into the United States by US Admiral Imports[3]. And is being sold in 18 states and 4 countries.
