He began his musical career in a local band, featuring John Reeves, Terry Morehouse, Bruce Bushman and Kevin Brandt, who later went on to perform with Mary Karlzen. At 15, he also played lead guitar for Starwood, which featured the Szamanda Brothers (Mark and Paul), keyboardist Jerry Barker, and drummer Mike Fittante.

Mark Walk is a composer, producer and current member of the bands Skinny Puppy and ohGr. Working in the electronic and industrial music genres, He became a writer,producer, studio engineer at a studio He built with Jim Nickel and Eric Anderson in MN. The studio is called Pachyderm.

During this time he also did work with Invisible Records in Chicago.
