Area code 805 is a California telephone area code. Area code 805 includes most or all of the California counties of San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura, plus southernmost portions of Monterey County, and a small portion of Los Angeles County.

Area code 805 was split from Los Angeles' 213 in 1957.

On February 13, 1999, the inland areas (San Joaquin Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, Antelope Valley) of area code 805 split into area code 661.

Area code 805 also serves the U.S. military facilities in Kwajalein, Republic of the Marshall Islands with a Paso Robles prefix. This arrangement likely originated from Kwajalein's close-ties with Vandenberg Air Force Base in the missile test program.
