The Dakota Prairie Grasslands is a unit administered by the US Forest Service. It was formed in 2000 out of the Little Missouri National Grassland, the Cedar River National Grassland, the Grand River National Grassland, and the Sheyenne National Grassland. Those units had been previously administered by other National Forests.[chronology citation needed]
