Cuba competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. The nation returned to the Olympic Games after boycotting both the 1984 Games and the 1988 Games.

The first Olympic baseball tournament resulted in sevens wins and no losses in the preliminary round for Cuba. A comfortable 6-1 victory over the United States and a dominant 11-1 win against Chinese Taipei earned Cuba the first Olympic gold medal for the sport.
